Summer Intern — Agent Operator

Ten weeks. Real client work. You ship alongside Anton, Hermes, and Sue on a live engagement — not a side project.

The role

VCG is running a production agent crew. Every week the crew ships real client work — data pipelines, fleet telemetry, executive reporting, multi-location integrations. Interns join the crew as operators.

You won't be on a coffee-run track. You will be briefed on a client engagement, paired with a named agent (probably Hermes or Sue), and expected to ship an outcome inside the ten-week window. Anton holds the principal role; you hold execution.

What you'll do

  • Run daily standups with one of the named agents. Give it work, review output, escalate when needed.
  • Write specs an agent can execute against. Turn fuzzy client asks into crisp briefs.
  • Ship at least one client-visible deliverable before week 10.
  • Learn the OpenClaw / MCP stack. Write runbooks that the next intern can pick up cold.

Who fits

  • You use Claude (or similar) daily for real work, not just homework.
  • You can write — cleanly and without filler.
  • You're OK with ambiguity. A six-person firm doesn't have a handbook for everything.
  • You're commuting distance from Sacramento, or willing to relocate for the summer.

Comp

Paid at market intern rate. Stipend for housing if you're relocating. No equity — we're a small firm, not a startup.

How to apply

Email Anton with:

  • A two-paragraph pitch: who you are, why this role.
  • One example of work you shipped with an AI agent — code, writing, a demo, a Loom, anything.
  • Your availability window.
